Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has declared his unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, promising an even stronger showing for the president than in 2023.
Speaking on Thursday during the celebration of his administration’s second anniversary at the Haliru Abdu Stadium in Birnin Kebbi, Governor Idris pledged that the people of Kebbi would deliver triple the number of votes Tinubu received in the last election.
He credited the Tinubu administration for significantly increasing federal projects and developmental efforts in the state, something he said Kebbi lacked before Tinubu assumed office.
“Kebbi is now witnessing a wave of developmental projects thanks to President Tinubu,” Idris said.
He emphasized that the current level of federal support leaves no room for doubt about the state’s loyalty in the upcoming election.
“With all the progress we’re seeing, there’s no reason why Kebbi won’t stand firmly behind Tinubu in 2027,” he stated. “We will triple the votes he received in 2023.”
Highlighting the strength of the ruling party in the state, he added: “It’s rare to see four former and serving governors gathered in one place. That alone shows Kebbi remains a stronghold of the APC.”
