Veteran Nollywood actress Jumoke George has made a heart-wrenching public appeal for help, revealing her ongoing battle with homelessness, severe health challenges, and the anguish of a missing child.

In an emotional interview on the TalkToB show hosted by fellow actress Abiola Adebayo, Jumoke broke down in tears as she described her current circumstances. She disclosed that she has been living in a church, relying on the support of the congregation to survive, while also dealing with deteriorating health and personal loss.

“Please pray for me, mothers around the world. I have never hurt anyone. I’m exhausted,” she cried. “I don’t have a home, I have nothing. One of my children is missing, and my health is failing. Most times, the church mummy is the one who feeds me.”

Jumoke revealed that her first child, Adeola, has been missing for four years. She noted that Adeola, who turned 41 on May 1, left behind children she is now responsible for, despite her own struggles.

“I’ve been sick since January 2,” she shared. “I’ve done several tests, and now I need to undergo brain and heart scans, which cost N400,000. I don’t know how I’m going to raise that kind of money.”

The actress described living in constant pain and sleeplessness, adding that her health has significantly worsened and she feels overwhelmed by the weight of her responsibilities and debts.

The video, shared on social media by Abiola Adebayo, has sparked an outpouring of sympathy and calls for support from fans and fellow actors. Many expressed concern about the well-being of veteran actors and the lack of support within the industry.

Instagram user #iamtrinityguy commented, “Honestly, in this industry, we need to check on each other. This mummy has been homeless for years and nobody knew. It’s heartbreaking.”

Another user, #ade_dayo, added, “Yoruba actors and actresses need to do better. You’ll spend millions on party outfits but won’t help each other when it really matters. This is shameful.”

On X (formerly Twitter), #thefashygram wrote, “Is this real? I feel so bad for her. She’s such a talented actress.”

A user tweeting as #sheyi_omotayo added context to Jumoke’s situation, saying, “She’s not lying. The church she lives in is on my street in Agbado. I used to think she walked that way because of her size, not realizing she was unwell. People assumed she was rich, but she’s suffering in silence.”

Jumoke George’s emotional plea has reignited conversations about the treatment and welfare of veteran actors in Nigeria, with many calling for better support systems for aging entertainers.
