Adeola, the 41-year-old daughter of veteran Yoruba actress Jumoke George, has been found alive in Mali, four years after she went missing.

Jumoke first spoke publicly about her daughter’s disappearance during an emotional episode of the Talk to B show, hosted by actress Abiola Bayo.

She revealed that Adeola had been living with her grandmother in Ibadan and had told the family she was traveling to Lagos before vanishing.

According to Jumoke, Adeola recently made contact, offering an apology and explaining that she had left the country with friends in pursuit of a better life.

During the interview, Jumoke also opened up about the toll her daughter’s disappearance took on her life. She spoke candidly about her struggles with poor health and financial hardship, which affected her acting career.

“Sometimes I get jobs once every three or four months, but since I became ill, I’ve had to turn down roles and even return payments,” she said. She added that she borrowed money for medical treatment and that any income she earned went toward the search for Adeola.

Medical tests costing around N400,000 are still needed, she disclosed. “Every small amount I earn goes into searching for Adeola,” she said tearfully. “It’s been a tough four years.”

A breakthrough came when Talk to B host Biola Bayo announced on Wednesday that Adeola had been found in Mali. Bayo confirmed speaking with her via video call. Although Adeola has not yet reached out to her mother directly, Jumoke expressed immense relief just knowing her daughter is alive.

“#JumokeGeorge is currently receiving treatment at a state hospital in Lagos,” Bayo shared on Instagram. “She’s awaiting further evaluation. Thank you all for your support.”
