The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade, has underscored the importance of fostering strong, harmonious relationships within the palace workforce, highlighting it as a foundation for effective collaboration and long-term success.
The monarch made this known during his inaugural meeting with palace staff, held on Wednesday at his private residence in the Boroboro area of Oyo town. The engagement was aimed at strengthening team spirit and mutual understanding among palace personnel.
This was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by the Alaafin’s Director of Media and Publicity, Bode Durojaye, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Oba Owoade emphasized that mutual respect and recognition of individual strengths and weaknesses are essential to building synergy within any organization.
“Strong and healthy relationships among the palace workforce will lay the groundwork for effective collaboration,” he said. “This synergy is vital for tackling complex tasks and driving innovation, ultimately advancing the palace’s mission.”
He further noted that unity is a cornerstone of both personal and collective achievement. “Whether in a team, family, or community, unity fosters cooperation and mutual support, enabling greater accomplishments and resilience in the face of challenges,” the Alaafin said.
The monarch also expressed profound gratitude for the continued support and encouragement he has received from the people, which he described as the source of his confidence and motivation. He affirmed that collective effort remains central to meaningful progress, stressing that humans are inherently social beings who thrive through collaboration.
In her remarks, the Alaafin’s wife, Abiwumi Owoade, echoed the monarch’s sentiments, adding that unity among palace staff boosts morale and shared determination.
“When people unite, they find strength and support in one another, which reinforces confidence and a common commitment to overcoming adversity,” she said.
