Tobi Amusan, a Nigerian sprint hurdler, won the women’s 100m hurdles at the Rabat Diamond League on Sunday, setting a new meet record time of 12.45 seconds.
Amusan’s performance broke the previous meet record of 12.51 seconds set by American Brianna McNeal in 2018, making it a notable accomplishment for the 2022 World Champion and record holder.
The race, which took place soon before the meet’s main broadcast, saw Amusan dominate the field, breaking away decisively from the other competitors. Her time of 12.45 seconds is also her season’s best (SB).
Nadine Visser of the Netherlands finished second, clocking a season-best 12.67 seconds. Pia Skrzyszowska of Poland finished third, clocking a season-best 12.69 seconds.
Other competitors who performed admirably include Switzerland’s Ditaji Kambundji (12.71s SB), Italy’s Giada Carmassi (12.81s PB), Elena Carraro (12.89s), Destiny Huven of the United States (12.93s), France’s Sacha Alessandrini (12.96s SB), and Austria’s Karin Strametz (13.08s SB).
