Former Super Eagles manager Sunday Oliseh has been appointed to the International Football Association Board (IFAB), the global body responsible for setting and overseeing the laws of football.
Oliseh announced the development on Monday via his official X (formerly Twitter) account, expressing his excitement and gratitude for the opportunity.
“Thrilled to announce my appointment to the International Football Association Board (IFAB)! IFAB is the global guardian of football’s laws, responsible for determining the laws of football, shaping the beautiful game for players and fans worldwide. Honored to contribute to its mission!” he wrote.
In his new role, the former Juventus and Borussia Dortmund midfielder will collaborate with some of the most influential minds in global football, including legendary former Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger. Wenger currently serves on IFAB’s Football and Technical Advisory Panels and previously worked alongside Oliseh within FIFA’s technical study group.
Oliseh’s appointment marks another significant step in his post-coaching career, reinforcing his standing as a respected voice in the development and governance of the global game.
