The number of pilgrims from Lagos State who have arrived in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, for the 2025 Hajj has climbed to 1,288, following the arrival of the fourth batch on Sunday, May 18.

According to Taofeek Lawal, Public Affairs Officer of the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, the fourth flight FLYNAS Airbus XY8420 took off from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja at 4:56 PM on Saturday. Onboard were 226 Lagos pilgrims, comprising 121 males and 105 females.

Also on the flight were 136 pilgrims from Osun State (66 males and 70 females) and 14 officials from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), bringing the total number of passengers to 362. The aircraft landed safely at Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah at 1:38 AM local time on Sunday.

Among the Lagos State officials on board were:

Dr. Ahmad Abdullahi Jebe, Special Adviser to the Governor on Islamic Matters and Chairman of the 2025 Hajj Central Working Committee (CWC)

Prof. Kabir Paramole, Chairman of the Da’wah and Sensitization Sub-Committee

Dr. (Mrs.) Faosat Dabiri, Chairman of the Medical Sub-Committee

Yusuf Ara, Chairman of the Bags and Luggage Sub-Committee

Upon arrival, the pilgrims were successfully checked into their hotels by NAHCON officials. They are scheduled to embark on Ziyarah, a visit to significant historical sites in Madinah, on Monday morning after the Fajr (Subuh) prayer.
