In a surprising report, Italian newspaper La Stampa claims that Jurgen Klopp has agreed to become the next manager of AS Roma, beginning with the 2025–26 season.

According to the Turin-based outlet, Klopp initially accepted an offer from a club undergoing an ownership change, but later reversed course in favor of joining Roma. The club reportedly hopes the German can replicate the success he achieved at Liverpool and lead the Giallorossi back to glory—Roma haven’t won a Serie A title since 2001.

Klopp is currently serving as Head of Global Soccer for Red Bull, overseeing football operations across the company’s portfolio of clubs. He stepped down as Liverpool manager at the end of the 2023–24 campaign after a transformative eight-and-a-half-year tenure, during which he won both the Premier League and Champions League and restored the club’s elite status in Europe.

La Stampa also claims Klopp has already outlined his transfer plans for Roma, requesting six new signings—three starters and three squad players. His reported wishlist includes a center-back, a right-winger, and a center-forward.

Despite the report, Klopp’s agent Marc Kosicke has strongly denied any agreement with Roma. “The news about Klopp becoming Roma’s next head coach is not true,” he told winwinallsports.

Roma are currently in search of a new permanent manager, with caretaker Claudio Ranieri set to step down at the end of the season.

Doubts remain over Klopp’s interest in Serie A, especially considering his past statements that he would not manage in Italy due to not speaking the language.
