The Kaduna State Residents Identity Management Agency (KADRIMA) has launched a grassroots sensitization campaign to encourage participation in the ongoing residents’ registration and identity card enrollment across the state.

Led by the agency’s Executive Secretary, Dr. John Danfulani, the outreach tour covered several Chiefdoms and Emirates in Southern Kaduna, including Kachia, Kaura, Jema’a, Sanga, and Zangon Kataf. During the visits, Dr. Danfulani engaged traditional rulers and community leaders, emphasizing the importance of building a comprehensive database for all Kaduna residents.

Speaking in Kachia on Thursday, he explained that the identity card initiative is designed to support effective planning, enhance security, and facilitate access to social services and financial inclusion.

“We are urging everyone residing in Kaduna, regardless of origin, to register and update their residential information. This identity card is meant for every resident,” Danfulani stated.

He further noted that the card will serve multiple purposes, it can be used as a debit or credit card and will grant holders access to key government services such as scholarships, free education, subsidized healthcare, health insurance, and other social welfare programs.

Danfulani dismissed concerns that the initiative is politically driven or intended for revenue generation. “This is not about politics or collecting money. It’s solely for the benefit of our people,” he said.

He stressed that the success of the project depends on widespread participation, calling on both indigene and non-indigene to take advantage of the opportunity.

Traditional rulers in the areas visited welcomed the initiative and praised the government for taking the program to the grassroots. They pledged to support the awareness efforts and encourage their communities to participate actively.
