Barcelona starlet Lamine Yamal has committed his future to the club by signing a new contract that will keep him at the Camp Nou until June 30, 2031. The 17-year-old winger, a product of the renowned La Masia academy, has enjoyed a meteoric rise, becoming a key figure for the Catalan giants.
“Barcelona and Lamine Yamal have reached a deal to extend his contract to June 30, 2031,” the club confirmed in a statement, calling the renewal a testament to the strength of their long-term project.
Yamal had an extraordinary 2023–24 season, scoring 18 goals and registering 25 assists in 55 appearances. His performances helped Barcelona win a domestic treble, including La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup. He also starred for Spain in their victorious Euro 2024 campaign.
Known for his speed, dribbling, and vision on the right wing, Yamal played a central role in Barca’s high-scoring season, contributing to their 102 league goals. Despite the team falling short in the Champions League semi-finals against Inter Milan, Yamal’s standout displays were a highlight of their campaign.
“I will keep my promise and bring the Champions League trophy to Barcelona. We will not stop until we get it,” Yamal vowed after the defeat.
Now nearing 18, Yamal has already made over 100 appearances for the senior team and is seen as a frontrunner for the Ballon d’Or. His new contract, reportedly one of the most lucrative at the club, includes several performance-based bonuses, including incentives tied to individual awards.
Yamal’s extension follows recent renewals by teammate Raphinha and head coach Hansi Flick, signaling Barcelona’s intent to build around a talented and committed core.
