The Lagos State Government has sealed DONALD Restaurant, owned by nightlife entrepreneur Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, for violating environmental regulations.

Located in the Lekki area of Lagos, the restaurant was shut down after two staff members were caught illegally dumping refuse on the roadside.

The Managing Director/CEO of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), Muyiwa Gbadegesin, shared the development via his X (formerly Twitter) account. He revealed that the Chairman of the Lekki Estate Residents Association (LERA) had alerted LAWMA early Saturday, May 18, 2025, about the illegal dumping of waste on Durosimi-Etti Street in Lekki Phase 1.

“A white Ford van with Abuja registration number GWA 136E was caught in the act of indiscriminately dumping waste,” Gbadegesin stated.

Investigations traced the vehicle back to DONALD Restaurant, located on Road 14 within the estate. The suspects were apprehended on the spot by LERA’s Chief Security Officer and detained at the LERA Secretariat.

Reports also revealed that the individuals attempted to bribe the security team with ₦100,000, but the offer was rejected.

LAWMA’s Monitoring and Compliance Team responded swiftly, taking custody of the suspects and sealing off the restaurant for gross violations of the Lagos State Environmental Management and Protection Law, 2017.

Gbadegesin confirmed that the suspects would face legal prosecution. He reiterated LAWMA’s commitment to enforcing environmental laws across the state and urged residents and businesses to comply with proper waste disposal practices.

“A clean and livable city is everyone’s responsibility,” he emphasized.
