The Lagos State Government has released a travel advisory ahead of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Summit, which will be held on Tuesday at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA) and Eko Hotel and Suites, both on Victoria Island. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to attend the high-level event, which will lead to increased movement of dignitaries and tighter security.

In a statement on Monday, the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, provided alternate routes for motorists to ease traffic flow and ensure public safety during the summit.

Recommended Alternative Routes:

From Eko Hotel Roundabout to Lagos Island/Mainland:
Use Adetokunbo Ademola Road, pass the Civic Centre, then turn left onto Ozumba Mbadiwe Road. Continue straight to Bonny Camp Roundabout, then turn right to head toward Lagos Island or the Mainland.
Alternatively, use the Falomo Ramp near the Law School to access Lagos Island/Mainland.

From Eko Hotel Roundabout to Ahmadu Bello Way, Adeola Odeku, and Inner Roads:
Drivers coming from Ajose Adeogun or Adetokunbo Ademola Roads can go through Sanusi Fafunwa Street to Akin Adesola Road. At the junction, turning left leads to Ahmadu Bello Way, Atlantic City, or Adeola Odeku; turning right leads to the Falomo Bridge or Law School.

Kofo Abayomi Road to Bonny Camp/Ozumba Mbadiwe Corridor:
Vehicles exiting near the Lagos Continental Hotel can take the Kilimanjaro Junction onto Ozumba Mbadiwe Road. From there, turn left to Bonny Camp Roundabout or right toward Lekki.

From Bonny Camp to Kofo Abayomi Road:
Take Ozumba Mbadiwe Road and turn right at Kilimanjaro Junction to connect to Kofo Abayomi Road via Lagos Continental Hotel.

From Independence/McEwen Bridge to Eko Hotel Axis:
Turn left at the IMB Junction on Ahmadu Bello Way (by Atlantic City), then proceed through Akin Adesola Road and connecting inner streets to reach Eko Hotel.

Commissioner Osiyemi assured the public that officers from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) will be stationed across key points to manage traffic and reduce disruptions for road users.
