The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has attributed the recent reduction in petrol prices to the Federal Government’s naira-for-crude initiative, which it says has significantly lowered costs at the pump for Nigerian consumers.

In a statement released on Monday and signed by its Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, the company affirmed its commitment to maintaining stable and affordable fuel prices, despite global crude oil market volatility.

“We are immensely grateful to President Bola Tinubu for facilitating the naira-for-crude initiative, which has empowered us to consistently reduce petroleum product prices for the benefit of all Nigerians,” the statement read.

The refinery emphasized that its pricing strategy reflects its broader goal of supporting the Nigerian economy and shielding citizens from the burden of rising global fuel costs.

Dangote highlighted that its decision to sustain price stability underscores a deep commitment to delivering affordable, reliable, and high-quality petroleum products, without compromising on operational efficiency or environmental sustainability.

“Our approach is in line with the Federal Government’s ‘Nigeria First Policy,’ which emphasizes the use of locally-produced goods and services. By refining petroleum domestically at the world’s largest single-train refinery, we are contributing to Nigeria’s energy security, conserving foreign exchange, and strengthening the country’s economic resilience,” the company stated.

It further noted that these efforts align with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to tackle economic challenges and improve the well-being of Nigerians.

Reassuring stakeholders, the company pledged to continue prioritizing affordability, product quality, and national interest in all its operations.

“Dangote Petroleum Refinery remains firmly committed to ensuring that the benefits of local refining are fully realized and widely shared among Nigerians,” the statement concluded.
