Popular Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has shared her thoughts on the romantic shortcomings of Nigerian men, despite their charm and generosity.
In a recent episode of the podcast Thoughts In A Culli, the Water and Garri star acknowledged that while Nigerian men often exude confidence and are known for their lavish spending, these traits don’t necessarily translate into genuine romance.
“Nigerian men have swag, no doubt,” she said. “They know how to dress and spend, but when it comes to real romance, it’s just not there for me. That’s not what I’m looking for.”
Tiwa Savage first captured public attention in 2010 with her breakout hit Kele Kele Love, and she has since become a prominent figure in both the Nigerian and international music scenes, earning multiple awards.
She was previously married to music executive Tunji ‘TeeBillz’ Balogun. The couple, who tied the knot in 2013, welcomed their son Jamal in 2015 before separating in 2018.
