Tinubu-signs

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the occasion of his second anniversary in office, praising the administration’s bold reforms and growing impact on the nation.

In a statement released on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Media, Ismail Isah, Governor Ododo commended President Tinubu for providing visionary leadership and instilling a renewed sense of purpose in Nigerians through transformative policies.

“Today marks two years of visionary leadership under our leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Ododo stated. “His Renewed Hope Agenda has ushered in bold reforms, a national recalibration, and a reinvigorated focus across key sectors of our economy and governance.”

Describing the president’s second year in office as a “season of harvest,” Ododo noted that Nigerians are beginning to witness the tangible benefits of economic reforms introduced during the administration’s first year. He highlighted critical decisions such as the removal of the fuel subsidy, the unification of the foreign exchange rate, and reforms in the tax and financial sectors as pivotal steps in stabilising the economy and restoring investor confidence.

“The second year of this administration has been focused on deepening reforms, managing the impact of transformative policies, and converting tough decisions into measurable economic progress,” he added. “We are seeing signs of macroeconomic stability, growth in non-oil revenues, and renewed private sector interest in industries like gas, agriculture, transportation, and technology.”

Ododo also pointed to initiatives like the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Initiative, the Renewed Hope Infrastructure Development Fund, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, and government efforts in food security and manufacturing revival as evidence of a strategic, long-term transformation agenda.

He reaffirmed Kogi State’s alignment with the Federal Government’s direction, stating that the state is investing in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and youth empowerment to localise the benefits of national reforms.

Highlighting the state’s involvement in the clean energy transition, Ododo said Kogi is training youths in CNG conversion technology to support greener energy solutions, reduce fossil fuel dependency, and create sustainable employment. He also revealed plans to introduce intra-city bus services in the state capital to ease urban mobility—another dividend of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“On behalf of the government and people of Kogi State, I extend heartfelt congratulations to Mr. President and all Nigerians on this significant milestone,” Ododo said. “As we mark this anniversary, we celebrate President Tinubu’s resilience, foresight, and steadfast commitment to building a Nigeria that works for everyone. Though the journey is demanding, his leadership continues to inspire hope and confidence across the nation.”
