Nollywood actor Godwin Nnadiekwe has been hospitalized with internal bleeding following a violent on-set incident involving fellow actor Zubby Micheal.

Nnadiekwe claims the altercation, which took place during filming, was unplanned and not part of the script.

In an Instagram post on Saturday, Nnadiekwe revealed he was kicked in the chest during a scene. Although he initially withheld Micheal’s name, behind-the-scenes footage he shared showed Micheal jumping from a vehicle, vaulting over a barricade, and delivering the kick before walking into a building.

According to Nnadiekwe, the act was not choreographed or approved by the director, and the unexpected blow left him in severe pain. He said he received no assistance from the film crew and had to seek medical attention on his own.

“During a scene, I received a kick to the chest from my colleague that wasn’t part of the script or directed by the director.
It caused me serious pains. Had to get medication for my chest to feel better today. I did all these by myself. No assistance!” he wrote.

The actor also criticized the lack of safety measures in Nollywood productions, stressing the risks of unscripted physical contact, especially in an industry often operating without insurance or medical support.

“When we’re working without insurance policies or readily available first aid, unexpected physical actions like this even if accidental can have real consequences. What if something more serious had happened?”

Later that evening, Nnadiekwe’s management confirmed his condition had deteriorated and he was admitted to the hospital for internal bleeding. Their statement named Zubby Micheal as the person involved.

“We regret to inform you that Actor Godwin Nnadiekwe was rushed to the hospital this evening. He is undergoing treatment for internal bleeding following an incident involving a kick on the chest during filming with his colleague, Zubby Micheal.”

The incident has reignited conversations about the need for stricter safety protocols and on-set regulations within Nollywood.
