The son of President Bola Tinubu, Seyi Tinubu has strongly denied allegations made by the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Atiku Abubakar Isah, describing them as baseless and defamatory.

Taking to Instagram on Friday, Seyi Tinubu responded to the accusations, saying: “Wow… how can someone lie with so much confidence? This is clearly an attempt to defame my character. May God be with you, Comrade Atiku Isah.”

In a follow-up post, he further stated: “I have never had a meeting with Comrade Isah in Lagos or anywhere else. I have never knowingly met him. I certainly did not visit any location with thugs. These allegations are entirely fictional.”

His reaction came in response to statements made by Isah during a press conference on Wednesday. The student leader alleged that Seyi Tinubu, along with the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, offered him a N100 million bribe in Lagos to publicly support President Bola Tinubu—an offer he claimed to have rejected on the grounds that the president had not delivered on his promises.

Isah further alleged that after refusing the offer, efforts were made to intimidate and abduct him. “I was abducted on April 15. I was stripped naked and brutally beaten, allegedly with the involvement of the MD of NTA. I only complied to gain my freedom, and I later issued a press release stating I was acting under duress,” he claimed.

He also alleged that he was threatened with the release of a compromising video and warned that any consequences would be covered up. “They said even if I were killed, Seyi Tinubu would ensure a cover-up. Ladoja, who was mentioned as being involved, reportedly claimed he could instruct the Inspector General of Police to hide the matter,” Isah added.

Despite the threats, Isah asserted that he proceeded with his inauguration as NANS President and vowed to continue speaking out. “Even if I’m shot, I will keep telling the truth. Seyi Tinubu can do whatever he wants—we will not be silenced.”
