Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has declared that Nigeria’s leadership journey is far from over, urging current and former leaders to remain committed to the nation’s progress.
Speaking at the public presentation of Being True to Myself, the autobiography of former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido, held at the NAF Conference Centre in Abuja, Obasanjo emphasized the ongoing responsibility of leaders to guide Nigeria toward its full potential.
“Nigeria that we are working for—we haven’t arrived yet,” Obasanjo said. “And I believe it is the responsibility of each of us to ensure that we get there. Our job is not finished until we are finished.”
He encouraged Lamido and other seasoned leaders not to consider retirement just yet, stressing that the task of nation-building remains an urgent and shared mission.
