YouTube has honored four trailblazing Nigerian female creators Ruth Kadiri, Kiekie, Ify Mogekwu (Ify’s Kitchen), and Korty for their remarkable impact on global storytelling, culture, and creativity.
In a statement to PUNCH Online on Tuesday, the platform revealed that this recognition is part of its 20th anniversary celebrations. YouTube applauded the women for transforming narratives and influencing audiences worldwide across film, comedy, cuisine, and youth culture.
“These creators embody the essence of storytelling that bridges cultures and sparks global conversations,” the company said. “They’ve harnessed the platform to educate, entertain, and connect with a diverse global audience.”

Ruth Kadiri has earned acclaim for her powerful filmmaking, showcasing the richness of Nigerian cinema.
Kiekie blends comedy and fashion with authenticity, captivating audiences through her vibrant personality and humor.
Ify Mogekwu, the culinary force behind Ify’s Kitchen, has brought Nigerian cuisine to the world stage.
Korty represents Gen Z with bold, expressive content that celebrates youth identity and realness.
YouTube also pointed to Nigeria’s increasing prominence on the platform. In 2024, over 70% of views on Nigerian channels came from international audiences.
More than 100 Nigerian creators now boast over one million subscribers a 60% jump from the previous year. Additionally, the number of channels earning eight-figure revenues has doubled, while those with 100,000+ subscribers have grown by 45%.
“This momentum underscores our commitment to empowering Nigerian creators with the tools, exposure, and reach to succeed globally,” YouTube added.
