Senator Ali Ndume, who represents Borno South in the National Assembly, has acknowledged that he is in contact with the opposition coalition seeking to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.

Speaking during an interview on Arise TV on Tuesday night, Ndume confirmed his attendance at several of the coalition’s meetings but emphasized that he remains cautious about fully aligning with the group.

“I’m aware of the opposition coalition. I’ve attended a number of their meetings,” Ndume said. When asked if he had been approached to join the coalition, he admitted: “Yes, but I told them no. I don’t want to jump from frying pan to fire. I have to be sure. I’m a loyal person and I have my reasons for being loyal.”

His remarks come amid growing speculation that the coalition may rally around the proposed All Democratic Alliance (ADA), a new political party that has applied for registration with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The coalition is reportedly led by prominent political figures including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, former Anambra Governor Peter Obi, and ex-Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi.
