The African Union on Thursday voiced its concern regarding the repercussions of the United States’ newly imposed travel restrictions affecting seven African countries.
In a statement, the AU Commission highlighted its apprehension about the possible adverse effects the ban could have on vital areas such as people-to-people connections, academic exchanges, trade relations, and long-standing diplomatic ties.
“These measures risk undermining decades of carefully cultivated educational, commercial, and diplomatic engagement,” the AU noted.
