Nigerian music star Darey Art Alade and his wife Deola had a close brush with danger on Friday when their car went up in flames on Lagos’ Third Mainland Bridge.
Deola took to Instagram on Saturday to recount the frightening ordeal, revealing that the incident occurred around 4 p.m. and left their vehicle completely destroyed.
“Yesterday, around 4 p.m., our car caught fire on the Third Mainland Bridge and burnt to the ground,” she wrote.
“It was a shocking and painful experience, but we’re incredibly grateful that the driver made it out safely. No lives were lost, and that’s what truly matters.”
Despite the trauma, Deola focused on gratitude and perspective, emphasizing that material losses pale in comparison to the value of life.
“Moments like this remind us how quickly things can change and how unimportant material things become in the face of life itself.”
She made it clear the post wasn’t a call for sympathy but a message of encouragement to anyone going through sudden loss.
“We’re not sharing this for sympathy but to remind someone that things can be replaced. Lives cannot. We’re thankful to God for protection, for perspective, and for the quiet strength to keep going.”
Deola ended her message on a hopeful note “If you’re navigating a sudden loss of any kind, we hope this reminds you: we can rebuild. We can begin again… one breath, one prayer, one step at a time. We give thanks in all things.”
The couple has received an outpouring of love and support from fans, friends, and fellow celebrities on social media, all thankful for their safety and sending well wishes.
