Antoine Griezmann has extended his contract with Atletico Madrid until June 30, 2027, the club announced on Monday. The 34-year-old forward, Atletico’s all-time top scorer with 197 goals, had previously been contracted until 2026.
Despite a goal drought since February and a trophyless season that saw Atletico finish third in La Liga, Griezmann remains a key figure at the club. Having joined Atletico from Real Sociedad in 2014, he later had a stint at Barcelona before returning in 2021.
Griezmann, who retired from international football last year, has won the Europa League with Atletico and was twice a Champions League runner-up. He and Atletico are set to face PSG in the Club World Cup on June 15 in the U.S.
