Nollywood star Daniel Etim-Effiong has opened up about a past period in his life when he dated multiple women at once, describing it as a time of exploration and personal growth.

Speaking in a candid interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, the actor who left a career in engineering to pursue acting addressed his past openly. When asked if he had ever been a womanizer, Etim-Effiong responded thoughtfully.

“It depends on what your definition of a womanizer is.” After Jideonwo described it as someone who dates multiple women simultaneously, the actor admitted, “Maybe there was a time in my life I was… not for long periods, but there were certain times I explored. So, perhaps.”

“It Wasn’t Fulfilling”

Etim-Effiong went on to share that, despite how glamorous that lifestyle might appear, it ultimately left him feeling unfulfilled.

“I learned that certain things don’t necessarily bring the fulfilment you think they will,” he explained. “On paper, it feels like that is the life. But experientially, maybe not.”

Now married and more reflective, the actor offers advice to young people, cautioning them against womanizing and emphasizing how early relationship habits can carry into marriage.

“It may seem cool to be a player,” he said. “But once you build that habit, it’s not something you can just drop overnight. If you can’t commit to one person before marriage, that won’t magically change after marriage.”

He warned that those who develop a pattern of avoiding commitment or unresolved issues may struggle with those same tendencies later in life.

“If you’re the kind of person who keeps women on a string, who walks away easily, that tendency doesn’t disappear just because you say, ‘I do.’”
