President Bola Tinubu has stated that he derives satisfaction and pleasures from the internal divisions within opposition parties and has no intention of offering support to help them become more organised.
Speaking during his State of the Nation address at a joint session of the National Assembly in Abuja on Thursday, an event held to mark Democracy Day .
Tinubu remarked, “I will not advise the opposition to put its house in order and I will not help them put their house in order. It is indeed a pleasure to see you in disarray.”
His comments come amid a wave of defections to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Responding to concerns about Nigeria potentially shifting toward a one-party system, the President dismissed such claims, reiterating his administration’s commitment to democratic values.
