Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta has opened up about the tragic loss of his first child, revealing that she died in a Lagos hospital due to his inability to afford medical treatment.
Speaking in a video shared by Abiola Orisile Events & Parties on YouTube, Chatta recalled the emotional ordeal during a conversation with colleagues on a movie set. He explained that despite his desperate efforts to raise funds while his daughter was admitted at a hospital in the Iddo area of Lagos State, help never came.
“I couldn’t get any money until she passed,” he said. “I trekked from Ijora Badia to Makoko trying to raise funds. Sadly, she died, and we buried her in an old wooden Coca-Cola crate.”
Chatta also clarified that his son Malik is not his firstborn, as widely believed, but his second child.
