The lawmaker representing Iwajowa in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Ogunsola Anthony, has commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his transformative leadership in the state while urging him to address critical road infrastructure needs in the Kajola-Iwajowa axis.
Speaking at a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) meeting on Monday at the palace square in Iganna, Iwajowa Local Government, Ogunsola highlighted the economic and social importance of improving road networks in the region. The meeting was convened under the Senator Alleluyah Vanguard platform and brought together key PDP stakeholders, including former Senator Hosea Agboola, popularly known as Alleluyah.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Ogunsola emphasized the urgent need for rehabilitating the Okeho-Ilero to Iganna-Iwere Ile road, which serves as a vital connection between Kajola and Iwajowa Local Government Areas. He also called for the completion of the Ijio-Ayegun Wasinmi border road, a crucial route linking Oyo State to the Benin Republic.
“Our roads are lifelines for trade, agriculture, and access to basic services. The current state of these routes is slowing down our economic progress and posing serious risks to our people,” Ogunsola said.
The lawmaker urged Governor Makinde to prioritize these projects as part of his ongoing legacy of infrastructural development.
Ogunsola also praised Makinde’s administration for its remarkable achievements in the past six years, describing the governor’s tenure as a period of “unprecedented infrastructural development.”
“Governor Makinde’s administration has transformed our state with remarkable infrastructure projects. These developments are a testament to his commitment to the welfare of the people and are truly worthy of celebration,” he added.
The meeting also featured Senator Agboola, who commended grassroots members for their unwavering loyalty to the PDP. He encouraged them to remain steadfast despite challenges, noting that their sacrifices would ultimately benefit the party’s collective goals.
Ogunsola reaffirmed his commitment to delivering on campaign promises and assured his constituents of his continued dedication to their welfare and development.
