The Deputy Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Abayomi Akinruntan, and the Majority Leader, Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi, have formally resigned from their respective leadership roles.

Akinruntan, who represents Ilaje Constituency 1, and Ogunmolasuyi, representing Owo Constituency 1, are both lawmakers under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Their resignations were announced during Tuesday’s plenary session, presided over by Speaker Olamide Oladiji.

Akinruntan cited internal political power-sharing arrangements within the state as the reason for his decision.

Following their exit, Ololade Gbegudu (Okitipupa Constituency 2) was appointed Deputy Speaker, while Olatunji Oshati (Ose Constituency) assumed the role of Majority Leader.

Further updates to come.
