Real Madrid and France national team captain Kylian Mbappé has filed a legal complaint accusing his former club, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), of moral harassment, according to a confirmation from the Paris prosecutor’s office on Thursday. An official investigation into the matter is now underway.

Mbappé, who recently signed with Real Madrid after a seven-year spell at PSG, is also pursuing legal action to recover €55 million (approximately $64.4 million) in unpaid wages and bonuses he claims the club still owes him.

The harassment allegation stems from Mbappé’s treatment at the start of the 2023–24 season. PSG reportedly excluded him from the main squad and made him train with players the club intended to sell, after he declined to sign a contract extension. This approach, which has reportedly affected other players in similar situations, led the French players’ union to file a related complaint last year.

Mbappé was also left out of PSG’s pre-season tour of Asia in 2023 and missed the opening match of the season. However, he was later reintegrated into the squad following discussions with the club’s management.

Despite the controversies, Mbappé left PSG on a high note, having scored 256 goals in 308 appearances. Notably, the club went on to win its first-ever UEFA Champions League title shortly after his departure.
