Veteran midfielder Luka Modric could be set for a move to AC Milan, with reports suggesting the Italian giants are keen on signing the Real Madrid legend, who recently became a free agent.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Modric is on Milan’s radar following internal discussions initiated by the club’s new sporting director, Igli Tare. The Croatian icon could join forces with Christian Pulisic, adding valuable experience to a squad already featuring exciting talents like Rafael Leao.
At nearly 40 years old, Modric has decided not to retire and is open to continuing his illustrious career elsewhere following the expiration of his contract at Real Madrid. After a remarkable spell in Spain, he’s now considering his next step.
Modric is attracting attention from across the football world. Alongside Milan, he has been linked to MLS side Inter Miami, where he could potentially reunite with Lionel Messi. Additionally, Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Nassr, home to Cristiano Ronaldo, have reportedly shown interest.
Interestingly, Modric also holds a minority ownership stake in Swansea City, and there is speculation that he could play a role in their push for Premier League promotion.
Fabrizio Romano reported via social media: “AC Milan’s new director, Igli Tare, dreams of signing Luka Modric. He’s one of the names brought up in early talks. Since leaving Real Madrid, Modric has received several offers globally and is in no rush to make a decision.”
Modric has long admired Milan, having supported the club as a child. That emotional connection, combined with interest from manager Massimiliano Allegri, could be enough to persuade him to begin a new chapter in Serie A.
