The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has named Mary Akinsola as the new media officer for the Super Falcons.
The appointment was confirmed in a statement issued by the federation on Thursday.
Akinsola brings over a decade of experience in communications and sports management. Her professional background includes roles at Warner Bros Discovery (Eurosport) as a production and commentary coordinator, Sportsgazette UK as a sports writer, editor, and digital media manager, as well as podcast hosting and writing for ACLSports.
She also previously worked with the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) as a sportscaster, producer, and writer.
Akinsola holds a master’s degree in International Sports Journalism from St. Mary’s University, London.
She joins the Super Falcons’ camp ahead of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, scheduled to run from July 5 to 26.
The nine-time African champions are placed in Group B alongside Tunisia, Botswana, and Algeria. Currently based in Casablanca, the team will face Ghana on June 29 in their final warm-up match before the tournament kicks off.
