The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has strongly denounced the recent violent attacks on residents of Yelewata and Daudu in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.
In a statement issued on Monday, NGF Chairman and Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, described the attacks as a “grievous affront to human dignity” and extended heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families.
“The NGF, led by Governor AbdulRazaq, expresses its deepest sympathies to Governor Hyacinth Alia, as well as to the government and people of Benue State, in the wake of this tragic assault on their communities,” the statement read.
The Forum reaffirmed its support for the people of Benue and pledged to work closely with relevant authorities to restore peace and ensure the security of lives and property.
“We stand in solidarity with the bereaved, pray for the souls of the departed, and wish a speedy recovery to the injured, along with strength for all affected,” the statement added.
The NGF further urged all Nigerians to reject violence in any form and to embrace peace, justice, and mutual respect across the country.
