The Olojudo Alayemore of Ido-Osun, Oba Olayinka Ishola Jokotola II and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) have perfected plans to improve security architecture in the ancient community of Ido-Osun and its adjoining communities.

The synergy was cemented at a meeting between the monarch and the Commandant of the NSCDC, Igbalawole Sotiyo on Wednesday.

The meeting centered on strengthening the security of the community and its immediate environs.

While receiving the NSCDC boss at his Palace, Oba Jokotola II commended the security outfits for their proactiveness, while calling for more tactical operations aimed at reducing criminality within the community.

“For you to achieve the aim of community policing, there is a need to engage the traditional institution accordingly because we know our subject, we are close to the grassrot and the community at large. So we must synergise with the security agents at all times and that’s why we are holding this meeting.”

Olojudo Alayemore also promised to ensure that all requests made by the NSCDC are granted in due course.

Earlier in his address, Commandant Sotiyo said highlighted how the command is contributing to the development of Ido-Osun, calling on stakeholders present at the meeting to partner with the agency towards improving the security of lives and properties.

The NSCDC boss said the command is aware of recent protest by some residents of Ido-Osun over burglary attacks by armed robbers, stating that the agency has mapped out strategies towards combating the issue.

Commandant Sotiyo encouraged the chiefs, community heads at the meeting and the entire neighborhood to notify them on any suspicious movement of anyone in their community and also re affirmed their commitment to safeguard the people of Ido-Osun, it environs and the whole of Osun state.

The command requested for more space to allow bigger things to be sited in the headquarters.

Osun State NSCDC headquarters is located in Ido-Osun and the visit by the Commandant is to reciprocate the earlier gesture by the monarch.
