The corps commander of the Osun Amotekun Corps, Hon. Adekunle Isaac disclosed that the command has deployed 1,000 operatives ahead the Eld celebration.

The commander disclosed this on Tuesday at the press briefing while highlighting the series of successful operations the command has achieved.

“Ahead of the Eid-kabir celebration, we are deploying over 1,000 security operatives across the state to ensure a safe and peaceful festival”, he announced.

However, reeling the successful operations, he added that the command had recorded a major breakthrough in its ongoing battle against criminal activities while reinforcing it’s commitment to public safety across the State.

“On May 29th 2025, Amotekun operatives swiftly responded to a distress call in Itapa, Atakumosa East, where armed gangs had been threatening residents”. The operation led to the arrest of five suspects and the recovery of a pump-action gun and criminal charms. Ongoing investigations have been bolstered by victim cooperation and suspect identification.

“In the early hours of May 31st 2025, “two suspects were apprehended in Oke-Oniti, Osogbo, during a robbery attempt. The suspects—Shogo Oriade (30) and Asimiyu Toheeb (28)—confessed to the crime and their involvement in earlier robberies”.

Citing another incident On 30th of May, “Amotekun personnel arrested Oladimeji Abdullateef (35) for stealing building materials worth ₦450,000”. The stolen items were recovered and the suspect confessed during interrogation.

“An arrest of Abdulateef Ajao (28) on the second of June was made and accused of luring an 8-year-old girl into his home. Thanks to the young victim’s courage and timely report, the suspect was swiftly apprehended and has since confessed to the crime”.

“Raji Ridwan ,a 25 years old man was arrested on May 29th following an attempted rape incident involving a 17-year-old student. Investigations confirmed his history as a serial offender”. He remains in custody and faces prosecution.

Acting on intelligence, the Corps arrested five individuals involved in the distribution of cannabis and other illegal substances. The suspects are aiding ongoing investigations.
