The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that Pastor Paul Adefarasin, founder of House on the Rock Church, voluntarily presented himself for questioning after a viral video surfaced showing him with what appeared to be a gun-like object during a roadside exchange.

In an official statement posted Tuesday on its verified X (formerly Twitter) account, the Command stated “No one is above the law!

Pastor Paul Adefarasin has turned himself in at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, and is currently being interrogated by detectives.

The investigation was triggered by a viral video that showed the pastor holding a gun-like object during an altercation with another road user, while driving an unregistered vehicle.
The outcome of the investigation will be made public.”

The widely circulated video shows Adefarasin holding a metallic-looking object and conversing with a passerby who appears to be recording the incident. The footage ignited online speculation that the object might have been a firearm.

In response to the public reaction, Pastor Adefarasin addressed the matter during a church service and on his verified social media platforms. He dismissed claims that he was armed, describing the event as a “misunderstanding.”

He clarified that the object in question was not a firearm and was never used to threaten anyone.
