A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Hon. Sola Oni, has hailed the recent court ruling affirming the validity of the local government elections conducted under the leadership of the PDP in the state, describing it as a divine victory and a major milestone for democracy.

In a statement titled “Aroma of Struggle”, on Friday, he said the ruling vindicates the party’s position and offers a fresh legal foundation for local government chairmen and councillors elected in the February 2025 polls to resume their duties with confidence.

“Lovers of democracy now have cause to celebrate the victory already proclaimed by the Lord of Mercy through the Court of Law in favour of the Osun PDP, as led by Hon. Sunday Bisi,” the statement read.

The PDP stalwart also took a swipe at the opposition, saying the party’s inability to halt the spread of developmental projects under Governor Ademola Adeleke had caused disarray in their camp.

“The uneasy calm in the camp of the opposition has been broken by the sweeping impact of development projects across Osun State. These projects have exposed political pretenders who are now metaphorically dancing naked in the marketplace,” he said.

Hon. Oni expressed gratitude to the people of Osun State for their unwavering support for the PDP and lauded Governor Adeleke for delivering democratic dividends in line with the party’s mandate.

“God has won the battle for us, and we shall continue to celebrate the good people of Osun State for sharing their faith in our great party,” he said.

He affirmed that the recent judicial victory strengthens the resolve of PDP leaders and officials across the state, saying: “Our local government council chairmen and councillors now have renewed legal justification to resume duty. No surrender, no retreat, no withdrawal. The party is our life.”

Hon. Oni concluded with a rallying call to PDP members and supporters across the state to remain resolute and focused, as the party continues to lead with what he called “vision, compassion, and integrity.”
