The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has relocated its Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting, originally scheduled for today at the party’s National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja, due to a sudden security lockdown.

In a statement titled “Special Announcement! Change of Venue for the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) Meeting” posted on its official Facebook page, the PDP announced that the meeting will now hold at the Yar’Adua Center in Abuja’s Central Business District.

The announcement, made around midday, followed reports that security operatives had sealed off the party headquarters earlier in the day, barring entry to officials and members.

Sources say the move was carried out “on orders from above,” disrupting scheduled activities at the Secretariat.

The PDP’s notice read “The Meeting of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), earlier scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Party’s National Secretariat, has been moved to the Yar’Adua Center, Central Business District, Abuja.”

“All BoT members are by this notice advised to proceed to the new venue.”

Several BoT members were reportedly already en route to Wadata Plaza before the last-minute change was announced. The statement was signed: “Signed: Management.”

This abrupt development underscores growing political tensions, with further updates expected as the situation unfolds.
