Tinubu-1-1-1

President Bola Tinubu has postponed his planned visit to Kaduna State and will instead travel to Benue State on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, to address the escalating violence affecting several communities.

A statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, said the President’s visit to Benue is aimed at directly assessing the security situation that has claimed many lives and caused widespread destruction.

Tinubu was originally scheduled to commission development projects in Kaduna on Wednesday, but that visit has now been rescheduled for Thursday, June 19.

In Benue, the President is expected to hold a town hall meeting with traditional rulers, political and community leaders, religious organizations, and youth groups as part of efforts to find lasting solutions to the unrest.

“In preparation, President Tinubu has dispatched key government officials — including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the Inspector General of Police, top security and intelligence chiefs, and the Chairmen of the Senate and House Committees on Defence — to Benue,” the statement said.

The President, who has previously condemned the violence, renewed his appeal for peace, unity, and mutual understanding among residents. He also offered condolences to families affected by the attacks.
