Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has issued a public apology to his wife, Natasha, their children, and fans after facing backlash over a controversial statement he made about male fidelity.
During a recent podcast appearance, the singer sparked widespread criticism when he suggested that men are not biologically designed to be sexually committed to just one woman.
“A man is not built to sexually be with one woman. A man can love one woman deeply, but it’s impossible for him to be with only one woman sexually. It’s biology,” he stated.
The comment ignited strong reactions online. While some condemned the remarks as an excuse for infidelity, others viewed it as an uncomfortable truth.
In response, 2Baba released a video on Tuesday night, labeling his statement as “unlegendary” and expressing sincere remorse.
“I know I messed up with what I said, and I understand that I may get cancelled for it. I want to apologize to my fans, and most importantly, to my wife the love of my life, Natasha and our children. I’m deeply sorry. That’s not who I am,” he said.
