Popular Yoruba actress Ariyo Oluwakemisola, better known as Kemity, has opened up about her personal life, revealing the emotional story behind having two children with different fathers.
In a heartfelt conversation on Biola Bayo’s podcast, shared via Instagram on Tuesday, Kemity explained that her first child was with her first love the man who, as she described in Yoruba, “disvirgined” her.
She became pregnant after their relationship, but tragedy struck when he was murdered in a hotel shortly after returning from a trip to Malaysia.
“I have two children for two men,” Kemity said. “The first man disvirgined me and I got pregnant. He later travelled to Malaysia, and when he came back, he was killed in a hotel. That’s how I became a widow.”
Kemity emphasized that having children with different fathers was never part of her plan. She pointed out that her mother had all her children with one man and expressed frustration over the judgment she faces from others.
“People say all sorts about me without knowing the story. Even my mum had all her children for one man. This was never what I wanted.”
She concluded by offering prayers for single mothers and called for empathy from society.
“I pray for all single mothers working hard to raise their children may God support you. And to those who mock us for having children with different men, just remember: this was never our plan. If it were, may you experience what we went through.”
