Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has been discharged and is in good health following a minor road accident that occurred on Sunday evening along the Daura–Katsina highway.
The incident was confirmed by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, who assured the public that Governor Radda sustained no serious injuries and remains in high spirits. Bashir Ahmed, a former media aide to the late President Muhammadu Buhari, also confirmed the development, citing information from the chairman of Katsina Local Government Area.
Following the incident, Governor Radda expressed heartfelt appreciation to the people of Katsina State and Nigerians across the country for their prayers and goodwill. Speaking in a brief live broadcast from his residence, he said:
“Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim. Dear brothers and sisters of Katsina State and beyond, we are deeply grateful for all your prayers and concern. By the will of Allah, we were tested with a car accident but Alhamdulillah, we came out safe and unharmed.”
The governor was briefly kept under medical observation as a precautionary measure but has since resumed his official duties.
