Grammy-winning Afrobeats sensation Burna Boy real name Damini Ogulu is once again the center of online buzz after a video emerged showing him wearing a $2 million ring on his left ring finger.

Dressed in an all-black ensemble, the Last Last hitmaker clarified that the eye-catching ring wasn’t a gift from anyone else. Instead, it symbolizes a personal vow and a bold challenge to any prospective partner.

“Show me one female that would have put this ring on my finger. This is what my marriage is worth,” he said in the clip.

“If you want to marry me, you’re bringing the ring because I already gave myself a ring. It is $2 million, so you have to beat it before I love you and we can have children.”

The artist, known for his confident and often provocative persona, has previously spoken about his hesitations around settling down. However, his recent statements suggest a shift in mindset.

During his birthday celebration on July 2, 2025, Burna Boy again touched on the idea of fatherhood, referencing a conversation with Nigerian businessman Jowizaza.

“Na so Jowizaza follow me talk the last time, I come dey think my life. I don dey old oh, I for begin born pikin.”

This isn’t the first time he’s expressed a deep desire to become a father but only under the right circumstances. In a 2024 livestream, Burna Boy explained that his high standards for parenting come from his own upbringing.

“Have you seen my mum and dad, the way they love me? I can’t give that to anyone right now with the life I’m living.”

Even earlier, in March 2020, he tweeted “just want to be as good a parent to my children as my parents were and still are to me and my sisters. Until I’m confident I can be stable and settle with the mother of my kids, I can’t have any kids.”

Now, with self-marriage symbolism, reflections on legacy, and renewed talk of building a family, Burna Boy appears to be opening the door to a new era one that may soon include both fatherhood and lasting partnership.
