As preparations intensify for the July 12, 2025, local government elections in Lagos State, Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Mojisola Meranda, has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to close ranks and work together for the party’s success.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by her media unit, Meranda emphasized unity and collaboration within the party during a stakeholders’ meeting held at the Lagos House, Marina. The meeting, convened by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, brought together party leaders and APC candidates for chairmanship and councillorship positions across the state.

Describing the gathering as a “powerful reaffirmation” of the party’s commitment to democratic ideals, Meranda said, “It was more than a ceremonial event, it underscored our collective determination to deepen democratic values, promote inclusive leadership, and ensure transparent governance at all levels.”

She further stressed the importance of a united front, urging all APC members to support the party’s candidates and uphold its commitment to a credible electoral process.

“Our message is clear: we stand for a free, fair, and credible election that reflects the people’s will and furthers the Renewed Hope Agenda,” she stated.

The Deputy Speaker expressed confidence in the APC’s preparedness and reaffirmed the party’s resolve to strengthen democracy from the grassroots, rekindle public trust in governance, and build a Lagos and a Nigeria that works for everyone.

Meanwhile, candidates from various parties have continued to visit the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) for a validation exercise, submitting their credentials and required documents ahead of the elections.
