Dr. Yunusa Tanko, National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement and former spokesperson for Peter Obi’s 2023 presidential campaign, has affirmed that Obi remains open to working with all political forces to save Nigeria from its ongoing crisis.
In an interview on Friday, Tanko emphasized that rescuing the nation requires a united, inclusive effort beyond party lines.
“We seek a unifying force committed to working as a team. Peter Obi’s message has always been clear, Nigeria is in urgent need of rescue, and this must be a collective decision,” he said.
Tanko also responded to recent efforts by the PDP to re-integrate Obi ahead of the 2027 elections.
PDP Deputy National Publicity Secretary Ibrahim Abdullahi praised Obi as a significant political figure whose return would strengthen the party, acknowledging that his departure to the Labour Party was a setback in 2023.
Nevertheless, Abdullahi noted Obi still commands great respect within the PDP.
