Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr have officially confirmed the signing of Portugueseand Chelsea forward João Félix in a deal reportedly worth up €50 million.

The agreement includes an initial fee of €30 million, with performance-related add-ons and a sell-on clause that could raise the total value of the transfer to €50 million. Félix has penned a long-term contract that will keep him at the Saudi Pro League side until June 2027.

The 24-year-old joins Al Nassr after a turbulent spell in Europe, which included a club-record move to Atlético Madrid in 2019, followed by loan stints at Chelsea and Barcelona. Though Félix showed flashes of brilliance, he struggled to fully settle in any of his recent clubs, prompting a move away from Europe for a fresh chapter.

Al Nassr, who already boast global stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mané, see Félix as a key addition to their ambitious project aimed at elevating the club’s status in both domestic and Asian competitions.

Club officials expressed their excitement over the signing, describing Félix as a “dynamic and creative forward” who brings “top-level European experience” to the squad.

The move also marks a significant financial decision for Chelsea, who have been actively managing their squad to comply with financial fair play regulations. The inclusion of a sell-on clause ensures that the Blues could benefit further should Félix make another move in the future.

Félix is expected to link up with his new teammates in the coming days as Al Nassr prepare for the upcoming league campaign and the AFC Champions League.

More details, including his unveiling date and debut match, will be announced by the club in due course.
