The Olojudo of Ido-Osun, His Royal Majesty Oba Olayinka Oyetunde Ishola Jokotola, has approved the elevation of Chief Ajala Awolola, Baba Loja of Aje Market, to the position of Baba Loja-General of Ido-Osun Aláyémọrẹ Kingdom.

The official announcement was made at the palace of the Olojudo during a courtesy visit by traders from Aje International Market, Ido-Osun, who had come to pay homage to the monarch.

Oba Jokotola stated that the elevation was in recognition of Chief Ajala’s longstanding contributions to the development of the town and the growth of Aláyémọrẹ Kingdom. He congratulated the newly elevated Baba Loja-General and urged him to use his wealth of experience to enhance the markets, improve the local economy, and promote the welfare of traders across the kingdom.

In his response, Chief Ajala Awolola expressed gratitude to His Royal Majesty for the honour bestowed upon him. He pledged to continue protecting the interests of market men and women, and to work closely with the government to ensure a conducive environment for trade and commerce.

He also called for unity, cooperation, and support from all stakeholders to effectively pilot the affairs of the markets.

Chief Ajala, a native of Ido-Osun, was born into the Awolola Awojobi family about seven decades ago. He began his education at Young Tajudeen Primary School, Ido-Osun, before proceeding to Ejigbo Baptist High School, Ejigbo. He furthered his education at the then Oyo State College of Education (now Osun State College of Education, Ilesa) and later earned a degree from the University of Ilorin between 1988 and 1992.

Chief Ajala served in various teaching capacities ,also been a trained educational and retired in 2018 as a Principal from Muslim College, Ido-Osun.
