Former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has asserted that Governor Ademola Adeleke cannot gain entry into the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) by leveraging his relationship with Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun.
Speaking on Politics Today on Channels Television, Omisore stressed that political party membership is grounded in local structures, not external endorsements.
“Adeleke is constitutionally free to join any party, including the APC,” Omisore said. “But party membership isn’t something you secure through Ogun or Abuja. Politics is local entry begins at the grassroots.”
He suggested that Adeleke’s alleged interest in defecting to the APC is driven by uncertainty over his chances of re-election.
“If Adeleke is truly serious about joining the APC, he needs to engage with the party’s grassroots structure in Osun,” Omisore added.
