A police inspector named Donfa Chirtip has been murdered, and his wife, Victoria, abducted in Kurmin Kare, a village in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
This development was shared on Saturday via X by a security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama.
According to Makama, Donfa, who was serving with the Special Protection Unit Base 7 in Abuja, was attacked while returning from his farm alongside his wife on Friday.
His body was later discovered in a farmland within the area later that same evening.
Makama revealed that upon arrival at the scene, security personnel found a deep cut on the officer’s neck.
“The deceased, identified as Inspector Donfa Chirtip of the Special Protection Unit Base 7, Abuja, was discovered lifeless on Friday evening with a deep cut on his neck in a farmland within the village. Joint patrol teams swiftly moved to the scene, where the officer’s body was found.
“Preliminary investigation suggests that the inspector and his wife, Mrs. Victoria Chirtip, had gone to the farm earlier in the morning around 7:00 a.m. on a motorcycle.”
“They were believed to have been ambushed by unknown assailants on their way back in the evening,” Makama added.
The officer’s remains were reportedly taken to Doka General Hospital, where a medical officer confirmed him dead and his body was deposited in the mortuary.
Search efforts were said to be ongoing to find his abducted wife and bring the perpetrators to justice.
Attempts to reach the Kaduna State Police Command spokesman, Mansir Hassan, for a comment were unsuccessful as phone calls went unanswered and a text message sent to him had not received any response at the time of filing this report.
