Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has denied allegations of theft made against him by social media personality, VeryDarkMan.
The dispute began after VeryDarkMan publicly urged President Bola Tinubu to take urgent action on the ongoing killings in Benue State and address the worsening economic hardship in the country. Responding in an Instagram video, Portable criticised VeryDarkMan for attacking the President, claiming that the activist only began living a luxurious lifestyle under Tinubu’s administration.
In retaliation, VeryDarkMan resurfaced an old video purportedly showing Portable being assaulted in 2020 for allegedly stealing a tricycle (popularly known as “keke”) before he rose to fame. He further released a diss track on Wednesday morning, mocking the singer and repeatedly shouting “Ole!” — the Yoruba word for “thief.”
Portable responded with his own diss track, denying the theft accusation and hurling personal insults at VeryDarkMan. In the track, shared on his Instagram page, he sang:
“VeryDarkMan, your mother. You’re a poor person. Your father is a shoemaker. I take after my father. I’m not a thief. Stop calling me a thief.”
The feud continues to spark reactions online, with fans and critics divided over the heated exchange between the two internet personalities.
