Priscilla Ojo-Mkambala, daughter of renowned Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, has spoken out for the first time following the fire that gutted her mother’s Lagos office on July 8, 2025.

Taking to her Instagram story, Priscilla called the incident a “targeted attack,” suggesting it may be connected to threats received in the lead-up to her wedding.

“On May 24, a letter was delivered to my mom’s office,” she wrote, sharing an image of the handwritten threat.

“It was clearly meant to intimidate her and sabotage JP2025. Thankfully, she was en route to Tanzania for my wedding and didn’t read it until she got back.”

Priscilla revealed that the family is now reviewing surveillance footage in hopes of identifying the person who dropped off the threatening note.

“We’re going through all the CCTV clips and will hand over evidence to the authorities once we identify the culprit. We’ve since installed more cameras both at her office and at home,” she added.

She believes the fire may have been a backup plan after earlier threats failed to derail her wedding celebrations.

“This is extremely serious and needs a full investigation. There are more signs I can’t disclose yet, but one thing is certain—no threat or criminal act will silence my mother. God is bigger than all of this, and eventually, the truth will come out.”

An excerpt from the threat letter reads “you put someone in trouble, and now you’re out enjoying yourself, giving out your daughter in marriage, abi? … You can’t escape. In the next three months, we are watching you. We will make sure your daughter’s marriage is ruined it will fail, and she will never enjoy it. We’ll all be there on the wedding day. Just wait and see. – Aggrieved Group”

While no suspects have been named, the family confirmed that security around Iyabo Ojo’s residence and office has been significantly increased.

Iyabo Ojo had earlier acknowledged the fire on Instagram, expressing gratitude to the Nigerian Fire Service and her staff for helping contain the damage. She also thanked God that no lives were lost.

Priscilla concluded her statement with a message of strength and resolve “we remain strong, hopeful, and prayerful. Justice will prevail.”
